It really sounds like God is stirring something up inside of you. That is so exciting to hear! Reading about what is on your heart is really challenging to me personally as I am a guy in a similar situation to you.

One of my favorite passages is Romans 3:21-31. It really distinguishes the difference between the law and faith and just reminds us of what Jesus did for us.

Another passage that I think is appropriate for your situation or any believers situation seeking guidance from God is Romans 8:1-17. The whole chapter is freaking awesome if you want to read it all, but that specific part talks about being led by Gods spirit. In this passage God challenges us to live by faith. He describes a little bit of what that looks like. My favorite part of the passage is in the end where it talks about us being children of God and how we are co-heirs in Christ. Let me try to bring this to a point. Bottom line is God loves you man and you were created to love God and other people first and foremost. You were created to bring Him glory. When you choose to give all of your worries and problems to Him daily He blesses that. He wants you to depend on Him. So with this whole relationship thing I would really seek out Gods heart on it like you were saying. His timing is perfect and He knows who will be the best person for you better than you do. So, rest in that man. Rest in the hope Christ gives us for life that is better than anything we could hope for and continue to seek Him out in day to day stuff. Instead of thinking what do I need to do, think about what is pleasing to God. I hope this was some help to you man. I just want to encourage you to keep seeking Him out and perusing Him. It's freaking scary as crap sometimes leaving stuff up to God and having faith. People think we're crazy, but I promise you it's worth it. God loves you John and He wants the best for you. HE HAS PLANS for YOU! Just think about that. For you man. wow. Ok dude, may God bless you dude. I'll talk to you later. And remember YOU matter to God. peace.

-Elliot O

Re: Private: RELATIONSHIPS: Intelligent Design strikes again!

I'm kind of like you in this respect - I've always been a Christian but my faith has grown immensely recently. I'm learning to trust that what comes my way is part of his plan for me.

I've recently begun a relationship with someone - it's my first real relationship and it's been more rewarding than anything I could imagine. Why? Because he took the plunge. He'd had several bad relationships in the past and had resigned himself to the fact that he might very well be alone for the rest of his life... Until we met, by total coincidence, and we became professional contacts, then friends, and very recently something more. He took the chance that God was telling him something, that by this one coincidental meeting something could blossom that would last forever. Maybe this was something special. And I've fallen in love faster than I ever thought possible.

So my advice to you is, take the plunge. Ask her out. Let her know you're serious, you're not just screwing around, you're in it for the long haul. If you think God is telling you something, go for it. If it's part of his plan, I bet you'll be incredibly happy; if not, just let him work things out for you.

Good luck.

Re: Sheila Jackson Lee needs to knock this unnecessary drama garbage off…

I guess I'm a tag confused what you mean?

John R. I enjoy reading a lot of the opinions that are put on these sites, however I this one was something I did want to comment on. I think that everyone is entitled to their opinion, and being in positions of authority, it really is hard to please everyone with every decision. So there will always be people out there that hate what you are doing. It is what it is. But I will say that I think in this particular situation, it seems that anything negative to be drawn from this situation is a bit stretched. Other than the soldiers who were victimized in the base shootings. I am sorry for that.

Re: The Bush/Obama Difference…

I'm not really sure how that situation makes President Obama look bad. It makes him look busy. Which is a good thing if he's the President. What was President Bush in the middle of? Nothing important, I'm sure. The base was in Texas. Bush is in Texas, near the base in fact. Most likely, has several friends residing at that base, since he was a military man originating from that state. So I'd imagine that he had every reason to drop what he was doing, (which was probably watching Fox News) and rush to the nearby hospital where his close friends were wounded. This story, to me, simply says that Bush has a good heart, and Obama is busy, but still knows to acknowledge the severity of the situation, and give it some attention. He may not be the greatest President, but he's working none the less.

Re: The Bush/Obama Difference…

CHARACTER does matter!!! Perhaps then Rubio will just point out that Crist can't make his mind up and that he's unreliable to keep his word? I hope Crist stays with the party because, obviously, with Crist as a Republican Rubio is ahead in the polls. But also... I feel that if Crist stays as a Republican, his credibility will for doing so will help him in the future...possibly for a run at FL Senate in 2012? I think he could beat Allen Boyd then. I see what you're saying, though, about Rubio being able to attack Crist's credibility if he switches, but at the same time switching to Independent puts Crist up in the polls over Rubio and every politician's goal is to get elected...therefore I think switching to Independent is Crist's best option and very bad for Rubio.

Re: Learn Robert’s Rules of Order before using them!

Yahhhhh!

Re: College Republican ENDORSEMENT: Jerry Hosey for Florida State CR Secretary

That is fantastic!
